In stark contrast to an injury-filled weekend, Greenwich Emergency Medical Services are reporting another day of minimal weather-related injuries and calls despite continuing cold. According to GEMS, units responded to only a total of eight calls between midnight and the late afternoon Wednesday, a below average tally.
“Nothing was directly environmentally related,” said GEMS Deputy Director Art Romano.
The only weather-related call, he said, involved an elderly woman injured in a slip and fall two days ago.
Greenwich Police similarly reported no major incidences stemming from the frigid temperatures or ice.
