So, if you’re writing a book and want company, or just want to sit by a fireside reading a good book, try the handsome Reading Room on the second floor of the Perrot Memorial Library in Old Greenwich. It’s a bit of a warm secret, the gas fire burning away in on cold days. But it’s been glowing there for the last 10 years, though it was installed back in the 1930’s says librarian Linda White. And when you’re headed home and have a load of books to carry check out the Perrot’s friendly tote bag available to you for three weeks – when it’s time to bring the borrowed books back. Now that’s what I call service. Perhaps Greenwich Library should give the idea a whirl.
