Tree down on Davis Avenue, no outages reported

|

Greenwich emergency personnel are clearing  a tree and wires brought down by the afternoon’s ugly weather on Davis Avenue near Bruce Park in Central Greenwich, police said.

The tree was first reported to have fallen at roughly 4:30 p.m. Thursday, bringing several communication and power lines with it.

As of this time, Connecticut Light and Power reports that there are no outages in Greenwich as  a result of the downed tree, the storm or otherwise.

No other incidents have been reported.

Greenwich Emergency management officials warn the freezing rain could have serious implications for the town’s infrastructure.

This morning’s heavy snow is expected to return this evening and continue into Friday morning.
