Greenwich Police have charged a Stamford man with larceny after he was caught shoplifting from a Central Greenwich Whole Foods and attempted to flee the scene, police said. Roger Brooks, 51, of Stamford was released Tuesday after posting his $250 bond.
According to police reports, Whole Foods employees observed Brooks attempting to shoplift groceries from the 90 West Putnam Ave. supermarket shortly before 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. Upon being noticed, Brooks attempted to flee the store, but was stopped by store employees who had alerted the police.
Brooks was charged with sixth-degree larceny and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on April 9.
