The Town of Greenwich is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Day in front of Town Hall at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 1 with a Proclamation read by First Selectman Peter Tesei, and a Ribbon Hanging. Joining him will be representatives from Greenwich’s Dept. of Social Services, the Southwest Regional Mental Health Board, and Pathways, Inc.
Guest speakers who will address various aspects of mental health include: Pathways President Katherine Barba on “About Mental Illness in Our Community;” Cathy Leamy of Pathways on “Living with Mental Illness;” Margaret Watt from the Southwest Regional Mental Health Board on “Raising Awareness;” and Dr. Alan Barry, Commissioner of the Dept. of Social Services.
Also, new “Know Your Town” Community Answers cards for mental health & addiction services will be distributed. In case of rain, the event will move into the Town Hall Meeting Room.
