Audubon Greenwich holds Friday Bird-A-Thon

Yes, on May 9, Audubon Greenwich is holding a Bird-a-Thon led by their award-winning Senior Naturalist/Educator Ted Gilman, reports director, Michelle Frankel. “We’ll be fanning out across the region for an exciting one-day bird count to spot as many species of birds as possible in one day.” The count they hope for is between 100-120 species. “We need to secure pledges for each species we find,” says Frankel, “to help us create healthier communities for both wildlife and people.’  Frankel says that each year Audubon Greenwich educates over 6,000 students through standards-based school programs, and provides over 8,000 adults and children with fun and informative public programs, and engages communities in protecting and improving habitat throughout the region.
