On Saturday, May 10, it starts bight and early at Audubon Greenwich, for the 6:30 a.m. Early Morning Bird Walk on this celebratory International Migratory Bird Day when so many of our migratory birds are returning to their northern summer homes. You’ll see old and new flying friends. Bring your binoculars and meet up with Senior Naturalist/Educator Ted Gilman in the main parking area. Then it’s gathering time for the annual Bird Breakfast at 8 a.m. when birders learn all the birds that were seen along the trail.
Post breakfast there’s lots ahead to explore and enjoy the whole day: Pond Safari Adventures; Mead Lake Hikes; Bird Games; Nature Fun and Great Prizes. There’s meeting up with Audubon’s live animals and learning new ways to ‘Live Bird-friendly’! Plus, there are four different one-hour hikes with program at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m. There are no RSVPs required. $5 per person.
