Family Centers to bring Chinatown to Greenwich

With its upcoming annual benefit, Family Centers is bringing the sights (golden-eyed dragons) and sounds (the chime of a gong) of the Far East to Greenwich. The nonprofit’s biggest yearly fundraising event, Chinatown: Night of the Dragon, is set for Saturday, May 31.

Event organizers are currently seeking sponsors as well as underwriters for items including a ride-able dragon wagon ($5,000), a welcoming gong ($500) and a henna tattoo artist ($2,000).

Read below for more information about the event from Family Centers:

“Family Centers will bring the sights, sounds and exotic flavors of the Far East to Greenwich for its Chinatown: Night of the Dragon benefit on Saturday, May 31.

“Drawing from elements that made the Chinatown areas of New York and San Francisco so iconic, co-chairs Pam Caffray, Ann Croll and Merrilou Hillenbrand are creating a true multi-sensory experience at the historic Greenwich Armory.

“Chinatown: Night of the Dragon is Family Centers’ largest fundraiser of the year and will support the agency’s health, education, human service and self-sufficiency programs.”
