Greenwich Hospital celebrated National Nurses Week by honoring town resident Lynne Reynolds of the Labor and Delivery Department with the Helen Meehan Award for Excellence in Nursing.

The award recognizes a nurse annually who demonstrates excellence in nursing practice, teaching or leadership.

It was established in 1989 after Helen Kirschbaum Meehan, a devoted nurse whose career at Greenwich Hospital lasted 53 years.

National Nurses Week was May 6 to 12, 2014.
