Rita Azrelyant is the Town’s new director of parking services for the Town of Greenwich. According to the First Selectman’s office , she apparently aced out the other 17 applicants for the $105,000 position, with her record of achievement in municipal management and local government. Azrelyant is leaving her position as assistant to the Village Manager for the Village of Scarsdale to head north for her Greenwich position to begin July 14.
“The interviewing panel found her experience in the field of parking services administration and municipal government would best meet the needs and responsibilities required for the Director of Parking Services in Greenwich,” stated First Selectman Peter Tesei in a press release that announced her appointment.
Azrelyant’s responsibilities in her present Scarsdale position includes managing parking administration for the Village, budgeting, staffing, purchasing and inventory control, and implementing parking regulations. She is also a member of the International Parking Institute. She holds a a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany in English and political science and a master’s of public administration degree from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
Greenwich’s previous parking director was Allen Corry, left the position this January for another position in Texas.
