With workshops and art parents have double feature at Bruce

There’s still time for parents to sign up their kids (grades 1-3) for next week’s Bruce Museum Summer Vacation Workshops, running from 11 to noon on Tuesday July 22 to Friday. The kids will explore the “Extreme Habitats:  Into the Deep Sea” exhibition, and then create their own versions of animals that live in the deep!

Cost for members $5, non-members $8, per child, per day, includes all materials.  Make a quick call to the Museum at 203-869-0376 to book your child.

Then, while they’re having a swimming time, parents can take that hour and explore the art that Greenwich residents have collected and check out their masterpieces in the show, “Greenwich Collects: Wyeth, Italian Renaissance Drawings, Chinese Antiquities.”

They’ll see rare Italian Renaissance and Baroque drawings, an Andrew Wyeth painting and an array of astounding ancient Chinese ceramics from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) collected by Fred and Jane Brooks family. This art reflects the passion and discernment of their owners. It’s a chance to catch a glance of this glorious art before it disappears back into the collector’s homes!
