West Putnam traffic light at Weaver and Holly Hill needs attention

|

There is a busy traffic light intersection in town causing a lot of driver irritation. It’s the increasingly busy West Putnam, Weaver Street, Holly Hill Lane intersection.

A steady flow of traffic comes from Port Chester and Westchester headed north on West Putnam. And the traffic flows steady headed south on that section of West Putnam as well.

Coming to that intersection are those coming out of Holly Hill Lane that connects from Hamilton Avenue, and those going and coming to the town dump, and those headed for doctors’ offices. And then there’s the customer load headed for CVS on that corner of West Putnam.

At West Putnam and Holly Hill, the car in center head north, second from left, waits an inordinate amount of time to make a left onto Weaver.

Weaver Street on the other side of the intersection is an important connection for drivers to the Glenville section of town.

What is badly needed is left turn indicator lights on both sides of that West Putnam facing traffic light at that intersection. Its time the Town’s Highway Department got on the case.
