Please, Mark do us all a favor. Drop the job of mayor so we call can have a clean break. We need you gone. This is coming from the same guy who turned down the baseball stadium to sell the land to a development group to build condos... OHHH WHOOPS! That company went out of business and now there's a 1/10 built site instead of a stadium the whole city could have used. The best is they spent our tax dollars to put in a traffic light on the road to control the traffic that was suppose to come down that hill from the condos. Problem is, NO ONE COMES DOWN THE HILL and those that do turn right to go onto the highway! What a joke. So now we have to sit at a light when people trip the wire to turn right. I think a $200 stop sign would have done the trip and saved countless minutes of my mornings. Thanks for the stadium Marky Mark, good luck on the run for the state seat. Lord knows we already have a republican in office without a college education. I guess it's a step up that now we might get a high school teacher... what a joke. Keep giving those development companies the land. What are we going to do when Applebee's goes out of business? This place is turning into a ghost town quickly... go Mark go!

I hope Mark Boughton wins. That way we can have Duane Perkins or Helena Abrantes as our next mayor.

Chris:

Boughton has been polled twice: One by Research 2000 (<a href="http://hatcityblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/dailykos-research-2000-poll.html" rel="nofollow">link</a>) and the other by Quinnipiac (<a href="http://hatcityblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/q-poll-mark-who.html" rel="nofollow">link</a>).

Both polls can also be found in the "related post" section of this write-up.

Polls? What polls? There are no polls. If you've seen something I missed, send a link for proof.

Its early in the game still. At least other Republicans have thrown their hat into the ring besides Tom Foley and Mike Fidele. They include the mayors of Shelton and Newington. These local candidates with municipal experience should prove interesting and hopeful for the Republican candidate to relate to local citizens and understand the burden the State govenment has placed on local residents.

It does make sense for him to buy that particular domain if he's putting feelers out for a gubernatorial run... or a senate run.

BTW, jetgazette.com is available... Just sayin'... :)

All I can say is that I'm amazed.
Looks like a joke, if you ask me.

I just can't believe that he actually
seems to think he has a chance!

All polls show him losing badly.

No way will I ever vote for this
idiot. He has run this city to the
ground with his political favor-playing.
Gene Enriquez makes Marky look like a saint!
Enough already with the Boughton BS.
Really.

Unbelievable, a true waste...FAILED in Danbury, time and time again...resting on his laurels, while the downtown area descends into history, and nothing gets done...

Laughable...Good Luck Mark!

Hey Tim (I'm missing the Jets Gazette right now :-),

Mark bought the site on Wednesday. Now, if he was buying it for the purpose of reserving it from someone who would create an anti-Boughton site, then it would be logical for him to also buy up at least four other sites that could be attributed to a gubernatorial campaign (boughtonforgov.com, boughton2010.com, markboughtonforct.com, markboughton2010.com).

Since he didn't buy these sites, as well as the fact:

1. He's driving across the state talking to various Republican Town Committees (a requirement when it comes to grabbing delegates for the convention),

2. He's presently attending gubernatorial candidate forums,

3. He stated that he would be making a decision by the end of the month,

IMO, it's rather safe to assume that the purchase of the website is an indication that he's throwing his hat into the race.
