Well, I finally did it…after all these years, I finally made an appearance on Danbury’s popular local access TV show “Community Forum.”
During last week’s taping, I sat down with host John Gogliettino and talked about the state of journalism in Greater Danbury and the lack of quality reporting on local government by the area’s media outlets.
I want to thank the Community Forum crew for everything…as someone who assist in producing shows on Comcast, I was REALLY impressed with Gogliettino’s operation.

You state concern for the Danbury city budget. If you were truly concerned about costs and taxes you would be on the other side of the illegal immigrant issue. The cost to our local, state and federal governments for the presence of illegals and their offspring are part of what’s responsible for increases in taxes on all levels. Especially educating the kids!
I was looking at the state retirement database that is on the News Times site.
Two commissions in particular that I wonder if you could explain.
Public safety … civilian
Public safety…. police
Together they cost over $4,000,000/ month … $50,000,000 annual.
Look at ALL the people that get $60,000 to over $100,000 a year in retirement pay. What in heck did they do to deserve that? Can we get the News Times to prompt it’s readers to look at the database?
Readers could enter names of local politicians and see who shows up in strange places. See if you can find the “local” getting a few hundred a month from Public Safety. Maybe SHE was a crossing guard for a while.
