Tonight at 7:00PM, the Danbury Board of Education plans to vote on their budget for the next fiscal year. The proposed budget includes a increase of 4 million dollars and has not received a favorable response from officials City Hall.
I’ll be on hand to provide a live video stream of the vote.
In order to get an idea of what the proposed budget looks like, here’s video footage of the board and school officials presenting their proposal to the Parent-Teacher Organization.

Al. I was one of the two people that tuned in for over an hour. The sound began to cut out too often to continue.
Seems to me they work as a random group of folks …. some talking some sound asleep. I saw nothing that would indicate Dr Sal reports to the Board of Ed. And, they all seem to think they reported to the teachers. “What will we do if teachers don’t show up ….” Oh my, oh my. Why not just have the stusdents and teachers vote when a deciaion is needed?
You don’t stay in the room all the time do you? It could make you nuts. I wish all of them could sit in on a meeting of executives of a Fortune 100 company …. it’s a bit different.
The poor taxpayers and students ….
Thanks for showing this Al, I wish everyone in Danbury looked at it.
How very very sad. A school budget presentation to the Danbury PTO and there are less then 20 adults in attendance. It’s even more sad, but not unexpected, that the DNT will not report such low attendance. This explains, in part, why school budgets keep rising in Danbury and the number of students that can meet minimum state requirements keeps falling.
The parents and teachers don’t care and the DNT is focused on fixing the Palace and providing dog parks.
