Resident alleges grade manipulation at Danbury High

by:

Cross post at HatCityBLOG

During the public participation portion of last night’s Board of Education meeting, a resident launched a serious charge at school officials at Danbury High School with accusations of grade manipulation.

From what I recall, the Board did not address this allegation during last night’s meeting (although I’m not sure if this matter would be addressed during open session).

If any parent has more information on this matter, please contact me at hatcityblog@yahoo.com or on twitter @hatcityblog or @ctblogger.

Ms Mendoza , you mention racial issues in your first sentence but dont describe them. Are you saying her grades were changed because of the color of her skin? You have a great lawsuit then. Alot of times teenage kids do lie to their parents, just saying….

my daughter’s grades were manipulated due to racial issues. She is an intelligent girl very conscientious, hardworking, but somehow could not get into high honors. Her grades from 6th grade to 8th grade on the report card were manipulated to be extremely inconsistent from each other. We need help for the school to be investigated.
I don’t know if it were the teachers or someone from administration
who has been changing her grades. My daughter’s dreams were shattered because of this. We are helpless because whenever we try to speak with the teachers why my daughter’s grades had a ridiculoous drop, they would mislead us that the reasons were missing assignments
where my daughter has been doing all assignments and confused with their accusations. Now that she is going to highschool, we are extremely worried. Please help us.

Are we surprised that school leaders developed under NEA policies would manipulate stats for their own benefit and to the detriment to their students? This is essentially the policy of social promotion the NEA has been pushing for decades. 0% accountability in all levels of public schooling Student, Teacher, Admin, Board of Ed.

Al, thank you very very much for posting this. As I listened to your broadcast last night I couldn’t hear well and I hoped you might run this.

If the Board of Ed were not a joke …
Someone would look at DOCTOR Sal and say “Do you know anything about this”?

If he said yes he could then explain and action taken or he could have said I would like to discuss in closed session.

If he said no, then he would be directed to investigate and provide a date when the info would be available to the Board … the person reporting the problem would be thanked and told when a responce would be available.

If DOCTOR Sal’s investigation showed the accusation to be correct he damn well better explain why he was unaware and what the heck it was all about. If the investigation showed it to be false then no issue.

In either case the results would be made available in open session.

This is very serious. Please keep their feet to the fire. From what the person said it seems that teachers, off or on record, could confirm with you. If there is something we citizens can do to help, please let us know.

    Thanks
