Oh how the once rabid xenophobes of Connecticut fall…
First, Greater Danbury’s infamous anti-immigrant activist (and local hate-group leader Elise Marciano‘s former right hand man) John McGowan was arrested AND convicted for first degree sexual assault. Now an infamous New Haven anti-immigrant crusader from the not-so-distant past was recently placed in handcuffs for an alleged stabbing incident.
Dustin Gold, the suburban Northford activist who led the vociferous protests against New Haven’s introduction of an immigrant-friendly i.d. card, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in the stomach.

The incident occurred down in Georgia, where authorities said Gold—now a 31-year-old reality TV producer—got into a violent argument with the producer of a TV commercial. (Read more about the “rising nativist star”’s trajectory here, courtesy of the Southern Poverty Law Center.)
When Gold was active in New Haven a few years ago, officials feared the tactics of his Community Watchdog Project would lead to violence. No violence ever materialized, though the campaign led to an outpouring of sometimes violent mail (including death threats) sent to city officials.

Dustin Gold is claiming self defense even though he attacked the victim Marcus Fox two separate times and concealed a knife before he was even confronted. Hope he’s got a good lawyer.
FYI…..for all those who prefer inaccurate reporting, Alfonse is the “man of the hour”. Mr. Gold is not / was not anti-immigration. He was anti ILLEGAL immigration. Get it ILLEGAL. The incident in Georgia is a tragedy for all involved. Lets wait for all the facts before flashing biased headlines. I think most people prefer a reliabel news sourse over a newsstand rag.

The man Dustin Gold stabbed was Marcus Fox a reality show producer from LA. The two were filming a group of political impersonators at Carriage Auto Group in Gainesville Ga. The incident took place at the owner’s home.
The entire USCFILE should be investigated for hate crimes. Didn’t one of their supporters suggest the Hispanic Center should be bombed? “I can’t help thinking how much better things would be if”, well… Mayor B. wasn’t the mayor! Love your angle and passion for journalism. Keep up the quality work!
