Running with the Milford Road Runners

I had the privilege of running with the Milford Road Runners club Wednesday night in Milford. The group, which started in 1978, meets every Wednesday night behind the Harborside Middle School in Milford Center for one of the its weekly runs. The group does runs of either 6, 7 or 8 miles and the members break off in different packs depending on how far people want to run.

I want to say thanks to Vice President Tom Fatone for inviting me to take part and also for running with me in the 90-plus temps. I also want to thank President Bob Stephenson, who has been running with the club since the early 80’s and is still going strong.

I got to meet some great people and I only wish I had more time (they often enjoy a pizza after the run), but I had to get back to the office for my night shift.

Keep a look out in the coming weeks for my upcoming “Run With Me” column in Sunday’s Hearst Connecticut papers for my story on the club and the great things they do to inspire runners.

Enjoy the heat runners!
