First Night Danbury

First Night Danbury, enjoying its 23rd year as a family friendly New Year’s Eve celebration this 2012-2013, salutes “Danbury Fare.” The pun is intended, with memories of Danbury’s historic and iconic “Fair” along with recognition of our City’s “Fare”: continuing development and service within our CityCenter downtown hub. First Night takes place on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Danbury downtown venues, all within easy walking distance.

First Night will offer more than 30 entertainments and activities over its 4 hours of spirited “Fare.” A vaudeville at The Palace Danbury traditionally anchors the evening, this year starring comedian Buddy Flip.  Buddy’s brand of comedy is lovable, lyrical and his comfortable rapport has made him immensely popular, with widespread appearances from Sesame Street Live to Comedy Central to the stages of Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He will be joined on the stage of Danbury’s 1928 vaudeville house by The Susan King Duo and magician Ben Nemzer. Music, Variety Children’s Activities, Arts & Crafts, Novelties & Exhibitions are planned for every age group, every interest, and every entertainment. There’s Magic, Stilt walkers, Hypnotism, Face Painting, Belly Dancing for Kids, and more.
