
Most ski areas like Catamount in South Egremont, Mass, above, got some snow Saturday.
It wasn’t a lot of snow, but enough to get us itching for skiing and snowboarding.
But don’t go rushing off to Catamount or any other southern New England area just yet; most aren’t open.
Again, the big thing here is that temperatures will remain cold in the days ahead allowing areas to make snow and expand trail count.
Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall is shooting for an opening next weekend.
Butternut in Great Barrington, Mass. plans to fire up its snowguns tonight. Traditionally, Butternut all0ws free skiing and snowboarding on its opening day. I’ll ley you know when that happens.
