Here’s your chance to ski with Olympic medalist Bode Miller.
Well, maybe just meet him. It happens on Saturday, April 3 at Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire. But registation for the race with Bode opens Wednesday. Cannon is located just a short distance where Bode grew up.
Here’s the details:
Olympic Medalist Bode Miller will be at Cannon Mountain on April 3 for the 6th Annual BodeFest Ski Challenge to support his Turtle Ridge Foundation. The Turtle Ridge Foundation was established by Miller in 2005 to support innovative and progressive environmental initiatives and youth athletic opportunities throughout the United States. One hundred percent of the event registration fees from BodeFest will benefit the Foundation.
“We’re very excited about bringing BodeFest back to Cannon Mountain for the second year in a row,” said Kyla Miller, operations manager of the Turtle Ridge Foundation. “BodeFest 2009 was a great success and the excitement is building for this year’s event. BodeFest is truly an extension of the Foundation’s vision; and with the generous support of the community we can continue to grow the event to make lasting contributions to causes that matter.”
BodeFest Ski Challenge activities will include the opportunity to race against Bode in a “fun race,” an autograph session for race participants and “Kids Ski with Bode” for kids 18 and under. All participants will receive a keepsake race bib and BodeFest event t-shirt. The event registration fee is $40, and will be available for purchase online only at www.cannonmt.com/bodefest beginning Wednesday, March 3, at noon. Entry is limited to the first 400 participants to register.
Lift tickets are not included in the registration process and can be purchased the day of the event for a special discounted price. A lift ticket or season pass is required to participate in the BodeFest events.
There will also be silent and live auctions during the day to benefit the Foundation and are open to all. No event registration or lift ticket is required to participate in the auctions or watch the race from the base area.
