Snow Zone

Snow Zone

Short descriptive tagline

Some areas offering free skiing

OK, OK, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy great snow conditions.
But this is the time of year that ski areas are already thinking about next year by selling 2010-11 season passes.

To tempt you to spring for a pass, many areas are offering free skiing and snowboarding until they close THIS SEASON.

Some also allow you to buy the pass over time. Generally, the passes cost hundreds of dollars with the more reasonable ones for midweek and non-holiday times. As usual, college students and seniors get the best deals.

In deciding whether to buy a seas0n pass, it’s a case of doing the math. Multiply the number of days you skied at area by the cost of a single lift ticket.

With season passes at Butternut and Catamount in Massachusetts are now going for $279, and a single weekend ticket costing $56, you break even after five days.

Also in Massachusetts, Jiminy Peak is selling next season pass with free skiing/boarding this year.

Among the areas already offer free skiing, if you buy a pass are
Mount Snow.

Other areas in Vermont offering the buy now/ski free deal are:

Bolton Valley.

Burke

Most areas have rolled out other season pass deals. They’re too numerous to list. So just go to your favorite mountain to find what’s available. The lowest prices should last until late spring and steadily rise until they peak in the fall.
