Looks like ski areas in New Hampshire and Maine are going to get lots of snow this weekend from the nor’easter starting to take shape. While Connecticut will likely get just dreaded rain, N.H. and Maine could get more than a foot of snow. Most areas in Vermont should get a few inches.
It’s been a snowy week in the North Country with many areas picking up healthy amounts of fresh snow. Jay Peak in northern Vermont has been getting pounded this week with nearly three feet of snow. What a difference from last year’s miserable season!
With the last big holiday week nearly over, ski resorts are starting to roll out some deals. In the next few weeks expect lots of price breaks on lift tickets and lodging as the ski/snowboard season winds down.
But the ski season is far from over. In fact, In fact, March is one of the best times to go sliding with the deepest snow base of the season and milder temperatures.
And then there are the discounted ticket prices that make things even sweeter!
The following are just a few of the deals that are popping up like, well, spring flowers. Visit the web and Facebook pages of any ski area and there’s a very good chance you find some real bargains, including e-coupons.
Okemo in Vermont has lots of great deals.
This Sunday Okemo will be holding one of its rare Carload Days. If you can pack in four or more individuals in the same vehicle., you pay pay just $60 per person to ski and ride all day! Not a bad deal when you consider that the regular price for an adult lift ticket is 88 bucks.

Here’s a great one – 2-for-1 Thursdays. Starting next Thursday, Feb. 28th, buy a regularly priced adult ticket for any Thursday online in advance, and receive one FREE adult or child ticket valid the same day! That’s a full-day of skiing and riding for just $40 per person. The offer is valid every Thursday beginning Feb 28 until closing day.
Okemo also has a Kids Rock FREE ticket offer. Parents, buy a regular priced adult lift ticket and get a ticket for your child FREE (ages 7-18) valid for the same day. Limited to either one Junior or one Young Adult free ticket per paying adult. Child receiving free ticket must be present. Offer valid Feb 25-Mar 1; Mar 4-8 and 11-15. Killington in Vermont is rolling out the Nor’beaster spring pass. For $199 (all ages) you can ski and ride every day from March 15 through closing day. The pass also gives you a 20 percent discount on select lodging through Killington Central Reservations.
Mount Snow in Vermont has a couple of Sunday afternoon deals: available at the ticket window every Sunday afternoon starting at noon. A $29 lift ticket valid Sundays 12-4 p.m. Family (or Friend) four-pack – $99 – Get four of your closest friends together and enjoy an afternoon at Mount Snow for less than $25 each.
And don’t forget the biggest St. Patrick’s Day party at a New England ski area. Mount Snow will again be selling a limited amount of $17 lift tickets for that day. The cheap lift tickets are available only online. Limited quantity available – must purchase at least 48 hours in advance while supplies last. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Tickets will no longer be available at midnight on March 15.

The second annual National Play Hooky & Ski Week is Mar. 4 – 8, and Liftopia – the largest online marketplace for deals on lift tickets and mountain activities – has launched one of the biggest sales of the season, providing great incentives to play hooky and hit the slopes.
