Jim Shay is Assistant Managing Editor of the Connecticut Post. Jim has written about skiing and snowboarding for more than 20 years. That’s required lots of “research” that has taken him to most ski areas in the Northeast; out West to such states as Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, California, Wyoming and Montana. Jim has also skied extensively in Alberta and British Columbia and in the Alps of Switzerland and Austria. Along with writing for the Connecticut Post, Jim has written for such national ski magazines as SKI and Snow Country, along with several regional publications. This year, Jim has decided to upgrade his weekly ski column to a blog that is updated daily throughout the ski season. The blog is shared daily with Hearst Connecticut newspapers including the Advocate of Stamford, News-Times of Danbury, Greenwich Time and the Connecticut Post. You can contact Jim at jshay@ctpost.com or call him at 203-330-6242.

What about Magic Mountain in Vermont? Lot of hard work going into making the mountain better, especially a much-improved snowmaking system and a five-year plan. A great place to go when crowds get the better of you. There has been a whole lot more beyond share sales going on.
