Name the best new business of 2013

Southwest Connecticut saw a rash of new restaurants and shops pop up in 2013, from Stamford’s creatively-named Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, to popular Japanese clothing store Uniqlo in Trumbul, to Greenwich’s potentially-groundbreaking Makerbot.

With so many good newcomers, we’re having a hard time deciding which one’s the best! In the comments section below, tell us your name, your favorite new business that opened in the area in 2013, and couple of reasons why it’s the best new business to open in your area this year.

At the end of the year, we’ll showcase a gallery of your nominations!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que opened in 2012 – so probably not a great candidate.

    Dinosaur BBQ opened in 2012.

Trader Joe’s!!! Trader Joe’s!!! While I love a lot of the other names on this list, there are none I visit more frequently. Having TJ’s in Stamford has been great. Reasonable pricing, lots of healthy stuff to choose from, and staff that actually seem happy to help you find things…it has made my grocery runs a lot less stressful. Definitely the biggest opening in 2013 for me. I love Dinosaur, and the Makerbot store is incredibly cool, but three times a week, Trader Joe’s reminds me that grocery shopping doesn’t have to be a drag.
