Man shot multiple times in Norwalk

A 24-year-old Bridgeport man was in stable condition on Christmas Eve after he was shot several times while sitting in a vehicle in South Norwalk.

City police said they received several reports around 4 p.m. Tuesday of a shooting near Building 2 of Carleton Court, a privately owned housing complex on Grove Street.

Norwalk police Lt. Paul Resnick said the victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital. The wounded man’s name was not immediately released.

Resnick said investigators collected evidence and interviewed nearby residents and that they believe the suspect fled on foot through a backyard on Novak Street and then to South Main Street.

The suspect was described as a short black male wearing grey sweat pants and a black jacket with either dreadlocks or braids in his hair.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Norwalk police by calling (203) 854-3111 or by submitting an anonymous internet tip to the police department’s website. Anonymous text tips can be submitted by typing “NPD” into the text field, followed by the message, and sending it to CRIMES (274637).
