STAMFORD — Mayor David Martin has scheduled his inaugural celebration for Saturday, Jan. 11.

The event, hosted by the Democratic City Committee, will be held at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa on Tresser Boulevard. The dress code is black tie optional.

The public is invited to attend the gala, but there will be a price at the door. General admission tickets are going for $125 and a private champagne ceremony with the mayor “and other honored guests” will run you $300.

The party kicks off at 7 p.m. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy – Stamford’s mayor for 14 years — and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal are confirmed guests, according to Martin’s office.

They say “In vino veritas”, but most of the time I don’t rely on someone who is inebriated to tell the diffewrence between fact and fiction.

In fact, the Mayor’s inaugural ball is sold out. They are turning people away.

It’s Thursday mid-day and there are still 215 unsold tickets.
The inaugural ball committee let Martin down big time.

Hey, 33 more tickets were sold today!

Poorly promoted and publicized event with lots of unsold tickets.
