NORWALK — The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra will host its second Young Artists Festival on Feb. 1 at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue.  This day-long festival is open to string students of all levels in Fairfield County who have at least two to four years of study and have not graduated high school yet. Students are invited to perform and be critiqued by judges.
The festival will also host a Concerto Competition with cash prizes of $150 and $300. The competition is open to students of all ages. To be eligible to compete, students must submit a video of their playing.  Those passing the preliminary round will be invited to a live audition the day of the festival. The winner will then be invited to perform their concerto with the orchestra at the subscription family concert on March 9.
For more information about the festival and competition, call the symphony at 203-956-6771 or visit www.norwalksymphony.org.
