Stamford high student arrested in sexual assault

A Stamford High School student has been arrested for the attempted sexual assault of a fellow female student, police said.

The juvenile, whose name was not released by police because of his age, was charged Thursday with attempted fourth-degree sexual assault and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center at Bridgeport.

Lt. Diedrich Hohn said on Dec. 13 a girl reported to school staff that she had been groped by the suspect immediately after it happened.

The girl said the two were on the fifth floor of the high school at 1 p.m. when the male student approached the female and asked her to perform oral sex on him.

When the girl refused the boy grabbed the girl and shoved his hand down her pants, Hohn said.

The girl broke free and reported the incident to staff, who then reported the assault to School Resource Officers Ken Boyd and James Stackpole.

Hohn said Boyd and Stackpole investigated the matter and obtained a signed arrest warrant for the suspect.

“The officers did a nice job by vigorously investigating the case and we hope the girl gets any counseling needed,” Hohn said.

Can someone PLEASE start asking the real question here? Why does the Stamford High School administration keep getting a pass? This is the second or third ugly incident that has happened on this principal’s watch. It once again shows how disconnected this principal is to what’s really going on inside and outside of the school. Until a real person of change comes in and leads this school, these problems will increase and become more public. This is not a small town nor a small town school. It is time to remove the rose tinted glasses and be honest that when you live in a big and diverse city such as Stamford, you have to deal with all the realities that come with it. I’m sorry but bringing a small town view to a school such as Stamford High doesn’t work. Adapt to your surroundings and deal with the hard truths. This is getting out of hand and because of this administration, Stamford will either loose the top quality teachers they have left or will continue to have teachers to follow the way of a good portion of the remaining teachers and start not caring. As evidence of the last few years, this principal has her own agenda and it doesn’t involve making the students and teachers feel safe

Just leave him with the victims father for an hour or two.

  3. What in the world is going on in the school system today. When I was in school, nothing like this ever happened, ever, ever. There might have been a fight or two every once in awhile, but never anything like this. This jerk should be expelled and sent to jail for what he did. Checking out a girl and thinking that “she’s nice” in your own mind is one thing, but to sexually assault her is another all together. I don’t care what the color of his skin is or his nationally, or what religion, or what part of town he’s from, rich or poor. Expelled, and jail. End of story. Too many bleeding hearts are going to claim how under everything this kid is. Too bad. Good thing for him it wasn,t my daughter. “nough said” know what I’m sayin’?

Remove this predator from all of our schools. Send him right to jail where he belongs and where he will likely spend most of his life.
