Homeless man found dead in a car buried in snow

A 57 year-old man was found dead in a car on Gray Rock Road in South Norwalk this morning, police said.

The man was in the backseat of the car, wrapped in a sleeping bag, said Lt. Paul Resnick, the Norwalk police spokesman.

“The car was parked facing the wrong way on the street and it had been there through a couple of snowstorms,” Resnick said. “Neighbors told us that the car had been there for 7-10 days.”

There were no obvious signs of foul play on the body, and police believe that the man died of natural causes, Resnick said. “The body has been brought to the Office of the State Medical Examiner, where an exact cause of death will be determined,” he said.

Although the man was homeless, he owned the car that his body was found in, police said. The man’s name is not being released because his next of kin has not been notified, police said.

Poor man. The economy is to blame, and it’s not getting any better, especially for those over 50.
