Pot grower busted in Stamford


Stamford police raided a city home and seized just under 30 marijuana plants Wednesday night and arrested the occupant for operating a drug factory, police said.

Ryan Lee Cruz, 29, of 11 William St., Stamford, was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession f more than four ounces of marijuana, operating a drug factory, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school.,

Capt. Richard Conklin said police went to Cruz’ home and got the plants that ranged from seedlings to about three feet tall. Police also seized the lights and other equipment used to grow the pot.
