courtesy of @sayitaintbreezA box truck crashed off exit 6 in Stamford Friday midday at the intersection of Baxter and Harvard Avenues.

The trailer of the 18-wheel truck crumpled around noon Friday when the driver struck a utility pole while attempting a right turn onto Harvard Avenue, Stamford Police Lt. Tom Scanlon said at the scene.

The driver was not injured, Scanlon said.

A Connecticut Light and Power crew checked the pole, which was not damaged in the collision, Scanlon said.

“It looks a lot worse than it was,” Scanlon said.

As of 1:51 p.m. another truck had arrived and off-loaded the palettes of wood being carried by the disabled truck.
