Sandy Hook teacher to speak at King

|

roigKing, an independent school in Stamford, is hosting special guest speaker Kaitlin Roig for a community presentation on Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m.

A first grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Roig was at school on Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2012 when 26 students and faculty members were killed in the tragic massacre at the school in Newtown. More than a year after the morning that changed the lives of so many, Roig is speaking about social curriculum ideas, overcoming tragedy, being thankful in each moment, moving forward and not on, and defining your purpose.

She will speak to King students in the morning, and will address the community during an evening edition of the program, in King’s new performing arts center at 7 p.m. Those interested in attending can RSVP to communityaffairs@klht.org.
