Stamford High School teacher accused of sexual assault

Danielle Watkins

A 32-year old Stamford High School teacher is facing second-degree sexual assault charges for having sex with an underage male student in her car numerous times during the last school year, according to Stamford Police.

Danielle Watkins, of 11 Fort Point Street, Norwalk was charged Thursday with two counts second-degree sexual assault in connection with the alleged inappropriate relationship , according to police.

She is also charged with sale of marijuana and risk of injury to a minor in connection with providing marijuana to a second 15-year-old boy, according to police.

The 18-year old victim came to police in late June to report the inappropriate relationship, telling police he had engaged in numerous sexual encounters with Watkins between September 2013 and June 2014, according to police.

Police executed a warrant search of Watkins’ car, phone, and home the next day, pulling over her car.  A police examination of the phone turned  up more than 2,000 text messages, including evidence of nude photos of herself sent by Watkins to the boy, according to police.

She was held on $100,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on July 31, according to police.

THE KIDS ARE VICTIMS BOTH OF THEM they were 17 & 15 when it started she is a TEACHER It’s a double standard, where many in the public cannot see the real harm when these stories appear. So a 15-year age gap seems perfectly fine for them if it involves a male victim, who must have been a willing participant and a female perpetrator, who just couldn’t help herself. But when the roles are reversed, and a 32-year-old male teacher has a sexual relationship with one of his 17-year-old female students, let the howling for justice begin. “Where was the school and the police during all this?” “Why didn’t other teachers, campus staff, or district administrators see this was going on? Why is it so difficult for some people on the outside looking in to see the damage to the minor child? Why are some so quick to rationalize the behavior as not harmful, and something the boy in question should be “proud” of? bad boundaries, harmful behavior, unethical conduct, and illegal sex acts and drugs with minors are the issues

The age is a fine line, but she was supposed to be teaching. Not having sex with her students. I don’t send my kids to school so they can get it on with the teacher. She needs to be fired and put away. What the heck is wrong with people?

He’s 18. She’s 32. What’s the problem? If he went to police, then he must of been trying to shake her down for money.
