Robbery nets fools gold

A Stamford man was walking eastbound on West Main St. late Saturday night when he was robbed by three men of a fake gold chain and crucifix.
Sgt. Kelly Connelly said the 33 year-old man was in the area of 210 West Main St. at 11:30 p.m. when he was approached by three teenage black males. He stated one male walked up to him and grabbed his gold colored chain and cross, pulling it off his neck. The three males ran off southbound on Rose Park Ave. The victim was intoxicated and couldn’t provide any information on the suspects except one of the males was wearing a red jacket.  He stated his chain and crucifix was fake and could provide no monetary value for it.  He sustained no injuries and there are no suspects at this time, Connelly said.
