Stamford police post video of break-in at Subway

|

Stamford police posted a long and detailed video Wednesday of a break-in at the Subway sandwich shop on East Main Street on August 19 at about 2:30 a.m.

The thief, who can be seen entering the shop, opening the cash register and taking stacks of cash, appears in the video to be a younger man wearing a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and a knit cap. The video points out the bracelet he has on his left wrist, and a large watch on his right. His hands are clearly visible. Though he appears to be wearing gloves when entering the building, he is not wearing them when taking the cash.

The shop seems to have multiple security cameras, as nearly the entire break-in is on the tape. The man opens a door to the shop, possibly with a key, enters, retrieves the keys to the cash register from underneath the counter it’s on, unlocks it and takes the cash. He then locks the register, replaces the keys, and leaves.

The video asks anyone with information on the suspect to call them at 203-977-4407, or to send them a message on their Facebook.
