Emergency workers step up for lady at St. Leo’s

|

A woman suffered an undisclosed medical emergency Saturday at St. Leo’s Fair near the Pizza Fritta tent, but was helped by volunteer firefighters and a physician at the annual event.

According to the Fire Department, the woman was taken to the hospital for further observation and treatment Saturday night, but the initial report was that she will be OK.

Given the crowds, police and fire coordinated getting an ambulance and EMS into the St. Leo’s parking lot where the carnival is taking place. So it was lucky there were people immediately on scene to aid her.
