Westhill students shine at FBLA nationals

|

Recent graduates and current students of Westhill High proved they have heads for business at the Future Business Leaders of America Phi Beta Lamda National Leadership Conference this month.

Ten Vikings were among the 10,000 that attended and seven Westhillers received national recognition in competitions.

Graduates Will Hart and Shikah Jaaswal took first place in the digital video and production contest for their Creating a Green World entry.

Joe Aunce and Bradley Darling, also 2014 graduates, earned fifth place in the Business Plan competition. Seniors Jenna Plotzky, George Sloane, and Christian Sottosanti brought home sixth place in Banking and Financial Systems.

“Our students were amazing—we have never had so many students place at the national level. Out of the eight who placed from Connecticut, seven were from our school,” said Westhill Business/Unified Arts Teacher Karen Kurtz. “These students were very dedicated and worked extremely hard. I could not have asked for a better group to represent our school.”
