U.S. Academy of Gymnastics performs well in opening meet

Riverside-based US Academy of Gymnastics made a strong showing at their first meet of the season at Connecticut at Girls Inc. in Meriden.
Seven teams in the state participated in the competition. Coach Janine Acquafredda was pleased with the collective performances of the team.
“We have a great group of talented and driven young gymnasts,” Acquafredda said. “I couldn’t be more proud of their resilience and results on Sunday.”

Captain Sutton Mock finished first on the balance beam in the 10-and-over age group with a score of 8.9 and placed third in the all-around.
“I love competing because it gives me the opportunity to showcase my dedication and hard work,” Mock said.
