Thursday’s stars of the day

Another pretty busy day for the local teams. The Brunswick baseball, lacrosse and golf teams each won, while Greenwich Academy lacrosse won. Greenwich High boys golf and girls water polo were also victorious. Here’s today’s stars.

Brian Schutzman, Brunswick baseball: Schutzman struck out nine in a complete-game, three-hitter in the Bruins’ 11-2 win over Greens Farms Academy.

Brunswick lacrosse: Strong team effort from the Bruins in their 10-9 overtime win over William Penn Charter School in Philly. Nick Bartlett had three goals and one assist, Billy Heidt had two goals and four assists and Trey Cammisa scored the game-winner in the first minute of OT.

Emily Conway, Lexi Henkel, Marisa Noto, Greenwich Academy lacrosse: Conway registered three goals and two assists, Henkel had a hat trick with an assist and Noto had a hat trick for the Gators, who dominated Holy Child, 14-4.

Andre Masse, Chris Troy, Brunswick golf: The duo each shot a 38 for the Bruins, who beat St. Luke’s 203-211.

Daniela Screnci, Paige Neary, Greenwich High girls water polo: Screnci and Neary each scored four goals, as the Cards cruised past Loomis Chaffee, 14-8.

Chris Pavelic, Greenwich boys golf: The junior shot a 1-over-par 36 for Greenwich, which bested Bassick, Central and Harding at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course.
