Greenwich Water Polo moving its program to Chelsea Piers

Greenwich Water Polo has signed a multi-year agreement to operate its entire program out of the Chelsea Piers Connecticut sports facility in Stamford. Chelsea Piers Connecticut released this press release Tuesday.
A member of USA Water Polo, Greenwich Water Polo will run a year-round program consisting of four seasons from children ages 7 to 18 years old.
“We are thrilled to welcome Greenwich Water Polo to our aquatics program,” Chelsea Piers Connecticut Aquatics Director Jamie Barone said. “The aquatics facility is uniquely outfitted to host all types of swim programs and given the consistent deep water present, is well suited for a water polo program. We are very happy to have partnered with such an experienced and successful group.”
Said Greenwich Water Polo President Terry Lowe: “We are excited to be moving to Chelsea Piers Connecticut and to have a home in the GWP program in the most fantastic athletic facility in the state. The CPCT pool is a 50-meter by 25-yard all deep facility providing an optimum water polo experience for our players. For the first time, our entire program will be housed at a single location. We will now be able to enlarge the program and provide more practice time for all our teams and players throughout the year. The Olympic pool is only a small part of this incredible new facility that will impact the quality of athletic training in a mulitude of sports and activities. We are proud to be an inaugural member of the CPCT family.”
The Chelsea Piers Aquatics Center includes an Olympic sized pool, a warm water and instructional exercise pool and a 6,000 square foot water play area featuring three giant slides.
