Monday’s stars of the day

Most of the teams in town had good news to report during what was a busy Monday. Here’s the stars of the day.

Hannah Staab, Greenwich Academy softball: Staab pitched a two-hitter, hit two triples and had two RBI in the Gators’ 15-0 win over Convent of the Sacred Heart.

Claire Feeney, Shannon Colligan, Greenwich lacrosse: Feeney recorded a hat trick and Colligan had two goals and three assist for Greenwich in their 13-9 victory against Mahopac.

Peter Geithner, Brunswick track and field: Geithner won the 800-meter run, the 1,500-meter run and the 3,000-meter run for the Bruins in their meet against Taft and Kingswood-Oxford.

Danny Guise, Greenwich golf: Guise shot a 35 for Greenwich, which rolled to a 146-169 win over Darien.

Jay Wong, Brunswick golf: Wong shot a 36 for Brunswick, which beat Rye Country Day, Hackley and Portledge.

Brooke Nethercott, Alexandra Sazhin, Greenwich golf: Nethercott and Sazhin each carded a 41, as the Cardinals outshot Ridgefield, 181-224.

Camilla Vik, Rachel Oates, Greenwich Academy golf: Vik won her match at No. 1, 4 and 2 and Oates cruised to a 5 and 3 victory at No. 2 for the Gators. GA beat Rye Country Day, 4-1.

Tatsuya Tasaki, Greenwich boys tennis: Tasaki got the start at first singles for the Cardinals, who shuffled their lineup against Stamford, and responded by posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Jenn DeLuca, Claudia Kesala, Sam Stone, Danielle Cepelewicz, Greenwich girls tennis: The foursome each registered 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles competition for the Cardinals, who beat Stamford, 7-0.

Alexa de Allessandrini, Sacred Heart golf: de Allessandrini beat her Hackley foe 3 and 1 and was a 2 and 1 winner against Westover School for the Tigers, who won both matches.
