Kyle Feeney, a 2009 Greenwich High School graduate and Bucknell University senior, was selected by the Charlotte Hounds in the eighth round of the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. A First Team All-Patriot League selection last spring, Feeney was one of just two goalies chosen in the draft.
Feeney, who was one of seven Patriot League players selected in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft, became the Bison starter early in his freshman season and has never looked back. He was ranked second in the nation with a 7.45 goals against average as a freshman and excelled on the squad as a sophomore, helping lead Bucknell to the Patriot League championship.
A member of All-Patriot League Second Team his sophomore year, Feeney recorded a .560 save percentage and an 8.77 goals against average last year. His 169 saves also marked a career high. For his career, Feeney has registered 426 career saves, which puts him eighth on the Bucknell’s all-time list. The Charlotte Hounds went 5-9 in 2012, finishing sixth in the eight-team league.
Feeney’s Bucknell team begins their 2013 season on the road against Delaware. Bucknell is coming off a season that saw it post a record of 9-7 and advance to the Patriot League Tournament semifinals.
