Tuesday’s sports stars of the day

It’s exam week here in Greenwich, so the high school sports schedule is light. Here’s Tuesday’s standout athletes.

Caroline Barrett, Greenwich High girls basketball: The senior guard scored a game-high 24 points, including nine points in the second quarter and eight more in the third in the Cardinals’ 68-57 comeback win over Norwalk. Barrett also made a pair of 3-pointers in the process.

Leigh Galletta, Greenwich girls basketball: The sophomore point guard stepped up in a big way, scoring 13 points, nine of which came in the second quarter, for Greenwich vs. Norwalk. Galletta shot 8-of-9 from the foul line and did a stellar job of running the Cardinals’ offense.

Grace Isford, Sacred Heart swimming: Isford won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.70 and the 500 freestyle in 5:41.03 in the Tigers’ 95-73 victory vs. Holy Child. Both of Isford’s finishes were personal-best times.

Emily Molinelli, Sacred Heart swimming: Molinelli’s first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:25.57) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.35) helped pace the Tigers win against Holy Child.

Alex Wolf, Greenwich boys basketball: The junior center scored a team-high 21 points for the Cardinals in their 70-62 loss to Norwalk.
