Cardinal hoops playoff update

|

The Greenwich boys basketball team still has a shot at making the FCIAC tournament with three games to go in the regular season and it is still in control of it’s own destiny.

The Cardinals (7-7 FCIAC)  are in a three-way tie for 9th in the league with Bassick and Ludlowe.

Wilton is 7-6 and in 8th and Staples is in 7th at 9-5.

Greenwich hosts Staples Tuesday and travels to Bassick Thursday before wrapping up the season against New Canaan and Danbury next week.

Cards have been up and down this season but are coming off a lopsided victory over Trumbull.

Alex Wolf should miss at least one more game and the fact that it is Staples is tough to swallow, I’m sure.

The Wreckers have been sharp lately and could make some noise in the tournament should they hold their spot and get in.

A win Tuesday over Greenwich all but wraps up a spot for Staples.

Greenwich locked up a state bid by beating Trumbull.
