The event the Greenwich High School cheerleaders eagerly wait all year for is almost here.

The Greenwich High School cheerleaders’ 7th annual Holiday Boutique and Fashion Show will take place on Sunday, November 17 at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. The show is especially exciting for the squad’s seniors, who will model fashions provided by The Side Door. The fashion show  is scheduled to begin at noon and will conclude at 4 p.m. The admission price is $40 for adults and $15 for students. All the cheerleaders from each Cardinals team will help run the popular event.

Greenwich’s cheerleading models will be escorted down the runway by some of the Cardinals football players. Senior captains Taylor Ingraham, Ashley Grudzinski and Amanda Rosabella will model the new fashions and will be joined by their parents, who will also model. The captains of the GHS football team will model tuxedos at the event.

“It’s going to be fun, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Greenwich varsity cheerleading coach MaryAnne Catalano said. “It’s always nice for the seniors. It’s like a peking order – they wait all year for this event. I always look forward to seeing the community come out and support them.”

Ingraham is looking forward to having her time in the spotlight this year.

“I’ve been a part of Greenwich cheerleading since my freshman year and watched all the seniors at the fashion show and they seemed so happy,” Ingraham said. “This year, I’m happy to be a big part of it. Every year they have really hip styles of clothes. I’m excited to see what they are going to bring us.”

Grudzinski has enjoyed her time as a Cardinals cheerleader and also anticipates a fun day at the fashion show.

“I’ve been going to the fashion show since I was a freshman, now it’s our turn to walk down the cat walk with the football players, which is great,” Grudzinski said. “Being a part of the cheerleading team has been amazing. Cheering at the home games on Friday night – it’s been so much fun.”

Shop boutiques will offer gift items at the fashion show, which will include desserts, beverages and hor d’ouvres.
