The honors keep coming for Greenwich native Taylor Bucklin.
A freshman goalie on the University of Michigan women’s soccer team, Bucklin was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season and Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time. Bucklin, who played soccer at both Greenwich High School and Trinity Catholic, led Michigan to a 2-0 win over rival Ohio State on Nov. 2. She made seven saves in the victory for her ninth shutout of the season.
Bucklin ranks first in the Big Ten in goals-against average (0.44) and also leads the conference in save percentage (.887). Her goals-against average and save percentage put her at eighth and ninth in the nation, respectively.
