Hey Patrick,
Logo looks great. Thank Becky. Is that a picture of the large alien aircraft from Independence Day? Oh my bad, it's Giant Stadium. We Jet fans still get to rent. That's just great.
See you Monday Night,

Jay-Z, first off, good luck on stage before Game 2.

I posted yesterday that barring a ninth inning error that costs the Yankees Game 7, A-Rod has done enough for people to lay off him. Not that they will, though. And I'm excited for George. I miss having him around.

I agree that the series will go 7 but it's not going to be easy for the Yankees wit dat Phillies lineup. If game 1 is played it will probably be an extra inning 1-0 victory for one of the teams. I don't see a blowout with pitchers like C C and Cliff Lee. It's time for A-Rod to finally abolish all of his previous postseason sins with a World Series MVP. I think if he has a series similar to the ALDS and ALCS he will be forgiven in the hearts of all the Yankees fan young and elderly. Are you excited to see the return of the great Sir George Steinbrenner The Third? I know I am. Go Yankees.

Rita, I hope Joe Girardi is better at picking out sandwiches than he is at picking what time he should take out a pitcher.

so uncle dougie saw joe girardi today at schrieffer's deli and asked him if he was going to end it tonight. joe said he hoped so. uncle dougie said to him, look on the bright side. if you lose you can come work for me. joe asked doug what he did. dougie told him septic system installations. joe said he'd pass.

Dave - It wouldn't surprise me if Swisher swung and missed at a ball placed on a tee.

Swisher is awful. He couldn't get a key base hit using a batting tee.

HBO - CC only pitched one game in the playoffs last year after he carried Milwaukee for the entire month of September. I think the three days rest will not be an issue.

I think Cole is all set for the time being with babies and I certainly see a number of Giants/Yankees fans heading down to Philly if that World Series matchup happens.

I hadn't heard yet that the Yankees were only going with a 3-man roster. I agree that it's definitely a good idea. However.. even though you said C.C. Sabathia did great on 3 days rest last year with Milwaukee, didn't he do horrible in the playoffs? Aren't you a little worried that only 3 days rest might effect him at all in the ALCS?

I wonder if Cole Hamels will have to leave in the middle of a game in the NLCS again for another birth?

Personally, I'm ready to make a trip to see the Yankees play in Philly :)

As long as you have an at-bat, you have a chance to win. Down two runs with a runner on first, expecting to win is a different story.

You can pin a loss on one at bat if you like, but considering the failure of the pitching leading up to that, it seems like a jaded judgement.

I'm not saying you should like ARod. I have a hard time rooting for him, too. But singling out one at-bat at the end of a series where pitching failed them seems a bit harsh.
