Leadership in the Face of Tragedy

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Yekutiel Zeevi. I didn’t want to blog about the crime or the horrible nature of the incident because I felt that I didn’t understand and/or couldn’t put it into proper perspective. However, as the story has unfolded daily I have come to the point where my emotions need to say a little something.

The Westport Police have totally kicked ass.

The whole town has come together and become closer as a community.

It was scary to have a killer at large, not knowing who was responsible, just a few blurry photos of the suspect. Then, this week to have a name and face brought some relief. Wow, the authorities did such a good job tracking, handling the tragic circumstances and providing leadership when we all felt vulnerable.

And now to have the suspected killer take his own life in a Spanish prison. And we learn about his family and his tragic circumstances.

I can only say that I am glad that this is the final chapter and that I hope Yekutiel’s family feel the love and support from everyone in town.
