Dump truck rolls over on Route 25

UPDATE, 12:25 p.m.: The accident, which backed up traffic for almost three hours, has been cleared.

UPDATE, 10:54 a.m.: The state Department of Transportation says the right and center lanes, along with the exit ramp, are now closed while crews clean up the dirt spilled from the rolled-over dump truck.


A dump truck that police say collided with a car rolled over on Route 25 southbound near exit 9 in Trumbull, prompting state police to close the highway’s left lane while cleaning up dirt that spilled all over the road.

State police said there were no injuries in the accident, which took place just after 9:30 a.m.

    Traffic drives way, way to fast on that highway. And they play games with the lazy trooper who sites at the emergentcy cross and does nothing. From the looks of it I’d guess the truck was gong too fast and the car cut aross in front of him from the middle or left lane to get to the CT15 exit after passing “slow cars” in the right lane. I see it all the time – it’s usually me the jackadzs are trying to cut in front of.
